A bittersweet decision, but it’s official: I’m CLOSING the Home Again Creative shop!! All inventory needs to go, so now is the time if you’ve been eyeing anything or want to stock up on cards. No codes needed — everything is already marked down. And don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere — sort of. When I first started selling art prints and cards I had no idea about licensing and freelance/commissioned work. I barely knew it was something that existed, and had ZERO clue how to get into it. Luckily, it found it’s way to me and as my participation in it has grown over the years, I’ve realized that I LOVE to draw. I LOVE to make new things. I LOVE seeing my work out in the world — but I have zero love for managing inventory, balancing our books, and all the business-y things that go with running a business. Plus, now that I’m homeschooling my girls, I just can’t. I do not have time & energy to give my girls the school experience we’re shooting for, keep my house together & family fed, be an engaged wife, fulfill my licensing projects, AND come up with and promote new products, while sending out wholesale and retail orders. So I’ve decided to shift my focus to licensing and commissioned projects full-time. I’m looking for a licensing and/or illustration agent, and am searching out additional projects in the meantime. It’s a bit scary, but I’m really excited about this decision. I am so grateful 💕 for each and everyone of you who has supported and purchased from me in the past!! Without the stepping stone of the Home Again Creative shop, I could never be where I am today — Home with my girls and pursuing a career in illustration. Thank you. Thank you. !!!!! I am so excited to share this printable label with you. I love to find fun & easy ways to make Christmas extra special for my girls, so years ago I started including hot chocolate in their stockings with a label that said it was from Mrs. Claus’s kitchen. In the past, it was generally created last minute, but I’ve always wanted to do it up right and put my hand lettering & illustration skills to work. This year was the year!!! You can purchase the printable file in my shop for only $3 and print as many as you need, year-after-year. The label was designed to work with Private Selection brand hot cocoa canisters — available to purchase at the Kroger family stores, ie., Kroger, Dillon’s etc. Please check with your local store for actual availability as all stores may not carry it. As an artist, I am constantly challenging myself to go beyond what I’m comfortable creating to do different & better work. Lately, that means I’ve been focusing on my picture illustration & more recently, people. So last night I challenged myself to create an illustrated self-portrait. Not sure how much she looks like me, but she does have my red dip-dyed hair, nose ring, and the @freshieandzero necklace I wear everyday!!
