Now that the holidays are over and things aren't as crazy, I've been itching to start making our new house, well . . . ours. But as we've undertaken a few very small projects, I've realized that I never shared with you pictures of the Practice House. So, before I get going on the new house, here's some closure to the old. ;) My only disclaimer is that I wouldn't exactly consider this house done in the decorating department. As we knew we would soon be moving, we opted to not spend money on things that may not work in the new house, so if you could keep that in mind, especially when viewing the couch & chairs in the living room, I'd appreciate it! But I can't take any credit for that. Credit there all goes to my wonderfully talented husband! All-in-all, a good little house, but we are so excited to be moving on & making this new house and community our home. xoxo Lori Danelle

Pinch me, I must be dreaming. | Lori Danelle: Maker of Things:

[…] Mr. Maker and I did everything ourselves. The beds were made out of free shipping pallets.  Most of the furniture was 2nd or 3rd generation hand-me-downs that I may or may not have refinished. I made all of their bedding. The floors were done in pine because we liked the beat-up look that they would soon take on. All-in-all, my point is that we created this room very cheaply. $500 or so — of which I’m VERY proud of.  It was my favorite room in the old Practice House. […]

Lori,
Your house was absolutely beautiful. The girls’ room was fantastic! And the backyard looked like a fairyland :-) I am super excited to see what you do to your new house!

Lori Danelle:

the backyard is about the only thing I miss from that house — but I know how bare it was when we started, so I know my husband an recreate something amazing in our new, very blank backyard. :)

Lori:

Ha! Well, I couldn’t leave you thinking I purposely choose that ratty old red chair. It’s got good bones though, & as with all the furniture I own, I plan to recover it — someday. . .
