When it comes to paper & ink, I've been showing up in quite a few places this last month!
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jerri Cook of Countryside magazine about the pallet beds I made for my girls and my overall love of taking old things and giving them a new life. The article was featured in the May/June issue that just came out.
I've got to be honest — it's fun to walk into a Barnes & Noble and find yourself in one of the magazines on their shelf — regardless of how big or small the magazine is! Gail, from My Repurposed Life, who was also interviewed for the article was kind enough to share it here at the end of her post, so you can read it for yourself.
The next one might be a little more difficult for me to find in a bookstore, but if you happen to be in France, you might be in luck! Aurélie Drouet's new book, 100 % Déco Palettes, Faites vos meubles just came out last week and though you may not speak/read French, you can probably guess it is full of furniture made from shipping pallets.
She includes a toddler bed built using my plans and I think it & the photography by Jérôme BLIN is wonderful! I have always wanted to find baskets or something to slip between the frame for extra storage, but have never gotten around to it. So glad that she did!
Also, if any of you can read French, I'd love to know what the page says! Ha!
Yup, that's me! I'm sure you're completely shocked, despite by subtle hinting before. (OK, not really)
I'm really excited by this opportunity to be included amongst so many amazing artists (have you SEEN Dolan Geiman's work!? I could COVER my house in it.) and to have my work in front of so many people. Plus, I won't lie . . . the centerfold? I'm feeling quite honored. It may just be a fluke, but I think there's a reason that it's the coveted spot amongst some Bunnies who live in some mansion. . .
However, I'll take my version over theirs!! :)
